»Pictures at an Exhibition« reinterpreted | 03.02.26
Hear pictures – see music: What does a painting sound like? And how do you transform impressions from art into music?
On 3 February, the Wave Quartet will be our guests, accompanied by marimba virtuoso Christoph Sietzen. The programme features Modest Mussorgsky's famous piano cycle "Pictures at an Exhibition" in a new interpretation for four marimbas. Before the concert, we will visit you for an introductory talk: using selected excerpts from the work, participants will experience how Mussorgsky expresses scenes and emotions in and through music – and how this gives rise to completely new soundscapes in the arrangement for four marimbas.

Gershwin, Ravel & Strawinsky | 21.04.26
The concert programme around »Gershwin | Ravel | Stravinsky« is all about contrasts that could not have been greater at the time of their creation. Conducted by Nicholas Collon, the Aurora Orchestra presents Maurice Ravel's Boléro, George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps – all performed entirely from memory. These works, which are among the most famous of the 20th century, bring together a wide variety of styles, linked by a passion for rhythm and the sonorous incorporation of different cultures into classical orchestral music.
