Ausfahrt

They call their style »jazz grunge«. The melancholy basic mood ascribed to many Seattle bands also emanates from the Cologne-based band Ausfahrt. Its music is based on improvisation, but catchy in structure and melodies. Rooted in the band leader Christina Zurhausen’s own experiences, the songs recount loving and conflicting worlds – the rough daily life of the Ruhr area, one’s lived 1990s and beloved 1960s firmly in mind.
