Coming from a Protestant parsonage, Andreas Küppers grew up with »a lot of Protestant church music« and also became familiar with a wide range of musical styles and composers as a child. It was only during his studies of piano and historical keyboard instruments at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts that he developed a close relationship with Renaissance and Baroque music. Since then, Claudio Monteverdi has been a kind of »house god« for Küppers: in almost every one of his compositions, the harpsichordist can recognise something that has a personal connection to him and moves him in every case.

In the podcast, Andreas Küppers talks to Katie Knees about the three things that appeal to him about music in its original sound and the connotations of B'Rock. With B'Rock and the B'Rock Vocal Consort, Küppers is following in the footsteps of »Monteverdi in Flanders« as part of the FEL!X festival.
