To the point and perfectly in the pocket. That describes the style of TILAR in a nutshell: they playing is »tight«. The band from Cologne has opened for jazz greats such as Bill Evans and Nils Landgren with its driving funk, convincing juror Klaus Doldinger at the 2020 Sparda Jazz Award. Mood-enhancing vocal lines, a horn section in powerplay mode and grooving rhythms – when TILAR plays, even the stiffest inhabitants of dimly lit corners of the room start bopping to the beat.
