Flamenco Festival

This Flamenco Festival offers a dazzling insight into modern flamenco. All the performers have one thing in common: not only do they rank among the most virtuosic of flamenco musicians, they are also always on the lookout for and discovering connections with other genres. Vicente Amigo's characteristic use of harmony and melody, a blend of compositional innovation and emotional virtuosity, has opened up a new path in flamenco. The breakthrough in Diego el Cigala's solo career came with the album “Lágrimas Negras”, a collaboration with the then 85-year-old Cuban pianist Bebo Valdés. And, very early on, Josemi Carmona developed the ability to combine flamenco with many other genres such as jazz, salsa, bossa nova and even hip-hop.
